Williams added to HBCU All-Star Bowl roster
TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee senior wide receiver Wayne Williams has been added to the West roster for the 3rd Annual HBCU All-Star Bowl at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. ET.
Williams, along with running back DeMario Pippen, teams up with other SIAC and SWAC senior football athletes to battle seniors from the CIAA and MEAC conferences.
During a four-year career at Tuskegee, Williams has caught 86 passes for 1319 yards and three touchdowns. He has returned 22 kickoff returns for 502 yards and 30 punt returns for 331 yards. With one game remaining in the 2011 regular-season, Williams leads the Golden Tigers with 17 catches for 231 yards and one touchdown. In addition, he has returned three punts for 34 yards, two kickoff returns for 41 yards and rushed eight times for 44 yards.
Head coach Willie Slater and his staff coached the west squad last year, and nine Golden Tigers played in the 2010 game at the Georgia Dome.
