Lady Golden Tigers sweep Stillman in softball action
TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Freshman Karisa Foye (4-2) was the winning pitcher in three of the four softball games the Lady Golden Tigers of Tuskegee (6-4, 4-0 SIAC West) won against Stillman College on Friday and Saturday at the Tuskegee University Women’s Softball Field. The Lady Golden Tigers defeated the Lady Tigers 5-0 and 4-2 on Friday and 9-2 and 8-7 on Saturday.
Foye was the winner of the 4-2 victory on Friday and both games on Saturday. Jennifer Taylor (2-2) got the victory in the Lady Golden Tigers’ 5-0 win on Friday.
In the four game series against Stillman, Foye posted a 0.00 earn run average. She struck out 15 batters and allowed only four runs. Taylor struck out seven batters, holding the Lady Tigers to seven runs in 13 inning of pitching.
The Lady Golden Tigers batted .358 as they pounded the Lady Tigers with 39 hits and 26 runs, including six doubles and two home runs. Megan Moore and Foye belted home runs for Tuskegee. Meanwhile, the Lady Tigers of Stillman had 113 at bats and scored only 11 runs.
Megan Moore, Kristen O’Neal, Alex Griffin, Taylor and Foye led the Lady Golden Tigers as they batted .500, .500, .429 and .667 and .444, respectively
The Lady Golden Tigers will travel to Jasper, Ala., to participate in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Crossover, Thursday-Friday, March 17-19.
