Baseball Golden Tigers set for three-game weekend home series
TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tuskegee baseball Golden Tigers will open up a three-game series this weekend with the Kentucky State Thorobreds at Washington Field. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sat., Mar. 10, starting at 12:00 noon, and a single game on Sun., Mar. 11, starting at 1:00 p.m.
The three-game series with the Thorobreds, first home games at Washington Field in 2012, will start SIAC conference competition for both squads.
The Golden Tigers are coming off a murderous road nonconference schedule, losing all 14 games. In their last outing on this past Monday, they dropped a doubleheader (1-11, 2-8) to the Barons of Brewton-Parker College, Mount Vernon, Ga.
With only one senior on the 25-man regular roster, look for the youthful Golden Tigers to crank up their bats at the friendly confines of Washington Field where they have won 10 out of their last 11 games, including the last four in a row.
Washington Field’s skin infield playing surface has a new layer and some repair work on each dugout has been completed for the weekend series.
